# Miami After Hours — world atlas

The game now has three navigation levels: **world → territory → scene**. The world uses the illustrated Miami street map. Selecting a territory animates the camera closer; selecting a location zooms to its entrance and shows the scene preview. Entering a scene returns to the existing walkable environment and character conversations.

Open **World atlas** in the header, press **G**, or use the world and territory breadcrumbs above the scene. **Drive streets / M** retains direct driving on the city road network. **Find next chapter in atlas** locates the next story stop.

| Territory | Locations | Story chapters |
|---|---|---|
| 01 Arrivals & Departures | Hertz rental counter | S01 |
| 02 Midtown & the Matchmaker | Hurts Don't It Café; The Matchmaker | S02, S06 |
| 03 The Neon Causeway | The Landing Strip | S03 |
| 04 The Auction Quarter | Hertz fleet auction | S04 |
| 05 South Beach | Marina at the shoreline | S04A |
| 06 Tomorrow Mile | Fleet service depot; autonomous lounge | S05, S07 |
| 07 Biscayne & the Floating Rate | Marina dock; yacht sun deck; yacht salon | S08 |

These seven territories are the current navigation geography. They replace the earlier production grouping that combined the club and beach while separating the café and Matchmaker. All eleven walkable scenes and all nine story chapters remain available.

## Navigation and progression

- Browsing the atlas does not move Lucky or complete a chapter.
- The atlas marks the current position, visited locations, completed chapters and the next story stop.
- Rental keys from Nina are required to travel away from the opener.
- The marina dock can be visited before collecting the invitation. Entering the yacht deck or salon requires Anita's invitation.
- Visiting the autonomous lounge does not grant the demo pass. Val's existing service activity still unlocks EVA's story activity.
- Trips follow the connected city road network, then zoom into the destination. On the same stop, travel is presented as walking. **Arrive now** skips the animation. **Cancel trip** or closing the atlas leaves the original location and progress intact.
- Plus signs identify small look-around landmarks with comedy observations. They are not additional playable scene interiors.
- Camera and travel animations respect reduced-motion preferences.
- Saved progress, the research notebook, soundtrack, character conversations and the three endings remain connected to the same campaign.

## Production files

- `game/atlas-config.js`: territory geography, scene positions and travel-access rules.
- `game/atlas.js`: atlas, camera, route animation and game navigation.
- `game/atlas.css`: desktop and mobile atlas layout.
- `game/world.js`: adapter connecting the atlas to the live world and campaign.

The city is fictional game geography. The dated research remains separate from fictional characters and dialogue.
